Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American actor and musician who began her career with clever rappers, which explored issues of race and sexual identity with the most comical of perspectives. Her career then grew her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first music experience. She was a trumpet player. Later, she began hip-hop and classical training. At college, she was studying Women's Studies and Journalism. In addition, she spent some time learning Mandarin at the University of Beijing. She didn't start focusing on music until the time she graduated. The track she released in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet which led to her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. Some other hits that went viral included Queef song, as well as the winking NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. This track was directly linked to another project, Awkwafina's NYC a travel guide published in 2015. The singer decided to pursue a career as an actor after having completed her two previous initiatives, as a writer and musician. Her film credits include films like Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018 she scored breakout parts in several notable films, including Dude Ocean's 8.8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP in Fina We Trust.
